What’s New in the Galaxy Z Fold 7
- Titanium frame: Stronger and lighter than last year’s aluminum design
- Redesigned hinge: 18 percent thinner when folded, with a new FlexFold design
- Display: 7.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED main screen with 120Hz refresh rate
- AI multitasking: Auto app pairing, gesture-based split view, and context-aware window resizing
- Battery: 4,900 mAh with 45W fast charging and wireless power sharing
“We’ve made the Fold thinner, stronger, and smarter,” said TM Roh, President of Samsung’s Mobile Division. “This is no longer an experiment. It’s our most advanced smartphone platform to date.”
AI Features Take Center Stage
Samsung is leveraging Galaxy AI, introduced with the S24 Ultra, to supercharge multitasking and productivity. Z Fold 7 users can drag and drop between three apps, auto-summarize documents with Notes Assist, and generate image backgrounds with Sketch-to-AI in Samsung Notes.
There is also an AI call interpreter that provides live translation in real time on the front cover display—targeting global business users.
Camera and Hardware Upgrades
The rear camera system features a triple-lens setup with a 200 MP main sensor, 12 MP ultrawide, and 10 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. Improved stabilization and low-light photography enhancements were also highlighted in live demos.
The under-display selfie camera on the foldable screen has been improved for better video calling, with AI-based sharpening and lighting correction.
Pre-Order Bonuses and Launch Markets
Pre-orders include a free Galaxy Watch 6 or Buds 3 Pro, depending on region. Samsung also offers trade-in bonuses up to $800 and a one-year Samsung Care+ subscription.
The Z Fold 7 will launch initially in South Korea, the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, and Australia. A wider rollout across Asia and South America is scheduled for August.
